Air Jordan OG Obsidian 12 (XVII)

Photobucket

The Air Jordan 12 (XII) Original (OG)Obsidians were released on February of 1997, retailing for $135. They feature a obsidian blue and white upper, as well as a white sole. The Air Jordan has some history and deep thought that went into it. It was inspired by the “Nisshoki”, which is the Japanese rising sun flag, as well as a 19th century women’s dress boot. It features stitched leather which radiates outward like sun rays, and this theme extends all the way to the arch of the shoe. The arch features two large rands, which run along the midsole, and feature embossed lizard skin. The purpose of these rands is to provide some sort of structural support to the uppers. The outsole of the shoe features a modified herringbone pattern, which provides great traction and grip. Also, the Air Jordan 12 (XII) is the first to use Nike’s patented Zoom Air technology, making it quite comfortable. The rubber outsole is heavy but very durable and sturdy.

Jordan Laser 5 (V)

The Air Jordan 5 (V) is a beautiful piece of artwork. The special part about this shoe is that the inner lining has a nice colorful sneaker camoflouge. Besides that it features laser etchings throughout the shoe’s upper, and has a clear outsole. The midsole is is composed of both orange and green. The green area contains metallic flakes in it. This shoe is very hard to get a hold of, and if you happen to find it deadstock, it will run you about $300.

Today for 4/20 there is another way to spend the "holiday" besides taking bong rips Nike SB has released some other "skunk" to cop today. Todd Bratrud has designed a Nike SB Dunk in limited supply today. The tongue features a pocket in the back which is a great stash spot for some people. The upper uses a variation of the color green throughout with purple accents. However, the most revealing design aspect of the shoe is the choice of a weathered, fuzzy suede used on the upper. The suede texture resembles that of a very famous plant’s buds. Finally, a bit of orange stitching highlights the design and brings out the “essence” of the green hue.

Jordan Chicago II (2) Re-Retro

The Air Jordan II was released in 1986. At this time Michael Jordan averaged 37.1 ppg and became the first NBA player since Wilt Chamberlain to exceed 3,000 points in a season. The Air Jordan II was designed by Bruce Kilgore, and like the I's, showed great innovation in design. The Jordan II's were the last Air Jordan shoes to carry the Jordan Wings insignia. The II's were retroed in 1994 in small amounts and sold very poorly, finding themselves on discount racks at Footlocker around the country. Now the Jordan II's are one of the most popular Air Jordans there are out there. Now the OG colorway is going to be retroed once again. This is going to be their second time being retroed. The original release date was set to be May 22, 2010 but has now been changed to May 1, 2010.
